Poet Audrey Alexandra Brown was born in Nanaimo, British Columbia in 1904. In 1948 Brown won the Lorne Pierce Medal for her contribution to Canadian literature. Brown also published "The Log of a Lame Duck" (1936), which is a journal that Brown kept while in hospital with rheumatic fever. From the description of Audrey Brown fonds. 1910.
